CAREER EXPERIENCE

Software Engineer - Lebinu Inc., Lisbon, Portugal                            1991 - 1997

Created and developed scientific programs for microwave and RF devices, amplifiers, and oscillators (parameter conversion, stability noise figure, unilateral figure of merit, gain) with graphic user interface.

Provided basic troubleshooting and maintenance of IBM PCs, PDP-11minicomputers and Novell network with 20 stations.

Trained 8 university students hired to assist with program development and-testing.

Wrote functions that enabled less skilled team members to develop parts of the program more quickly, resulting in a CDN$25,000 savings due to early completion.

Software Engineer - Industrial Electronics, Munich, Germany (6-month contract)         1991

Wrote TSR programs for electronic calculation and analysis for AutoCAD.

Produced product documentation and provided technical assistance by phone and fax to representatives in Europe and North America.

Received special recognition for solving a long-standing problem in one-third of the expected time, allowing the product to be marketed two months early.

Computer Engineer - Romulux Enterprises, Choigner, Germany                 1987 - 1990

Developed computer programs to calculate the geometric parameters of parabolic antennae.

Worked effectively in a team of five to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Trained junior programmers in troubleshooting the system and preparing documentation.

Wrote an instruction manual to assist new hires in using, maintaining and modifying the computer system, reducing training time by approximately 25%. The manual was subsequently duplicated for use in 3 other branches.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

LAN Assistant - Vancouver Community Centre, Vancouver, BC              1997 to present

Assisted in maintaining a LAN with 45 workstations. Installed and configured Windows 95, Office 97, ACCPAC and other software. Issued passwords and provided troubleshooting services for 60 managers, staff and Community Centre members.
